I like these. I have three. My sons (age 3-8) use them for school lunches and packing for day trips up the mountains etc. They can be tricky to close but putting them together isn't a problem if positioned correctly. My kids had no trouble opening or closing the lid as long as the metal shell was properly inserted into the plastic base. Tip: Before filling it with food, align all parts, press and snap all parts at the same time. Open and fill it and close it again. They're easy to clean and store in portions, and unlike some other brands, they fit the adult amount of food my kids need. Customer service is great too, my son threw it out of his backpack and it fell on the sidewalk. I emailed asking if I could just buy a new plastic base and they sent me a new base for free. Tl:dr: That's a great lunch box - as a longtime user of several, I'm not sure why people have such issues with it - haha.
