My 5 year old usually works with most sizes like 6x/7. I bought size 7-8 after measuring. It fits but it's not comfortable. There is no warping or stretching and the top half has a very square cut. My daughter didn't mind at all and wanted to wear it again. It's also very thin so I highly recommend wearing tights or sheer shorts/pants with it. It was a great dress for her 50 day school outfit. She hates polyester in most costumes so I searched for a nice A-line dress and attached a music note patch to it. Other parents also praised her dress. Be sure to measure with a tape measure and don't expect the fabric to pull back.
