Review on πŸƒ Organic Nursing Balm, 1 oz - Bamboo Nipple Cream (Lanolin-Free) by Josh Zepeda

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good alternative to lanolin creams, works well when pumping, can be ordered direct from Bamboobies

I had problems with sore and sore nipples while breastfeeding so I used a nipple balm to relieve it Prevent swelling and cracking. I started using a lanolin cream (Lansinoh, Medela) which I liked but wanted to try an alternative and chose this brand as I really like their disposable nursing pads. All of the ingredients appear to be plant-based (I'm not an expert at reading the ingredients for these, hence the qualifier). The main ingredient is olive oil with other oils added to thicken the cream. It is easy to spread on the skin and provides pleasant moisture. I've also used it for pumping and it works really well to make pumping easier. I had an odd issue where the butter turned into a thick liquid when my husband decided to mix it in (it sort of settled on the sides when we got it so he used a butter knife to mix it in) and he did never went back to it oil consistency. We went to the Bamboobies website and they recommend buying direct from them so the oil doesn't sit on the shelf for too long. I don't know if this is a typical order from Revain, but we started ordering direct from Bamboobies and got a solid one (see pic, the top was melted down with my finger to add a bit of bulk). The new one we can see has an expiry date written on the bottom of the box (see other picture) which I hadn't noticed before so the one I got from Revain may have been old but I didn't notice. When purchasing liquid, check the expiration date and contact Revain for a new one. Since this is a natural product and olive oil is the first ingredient, it makes sense that it could separate over time. Overall, I recommend it and will continue to use it myself.

Pros
  • PERFECT SOLUTION for cracked nipples caused by breastfeeding
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
