I bought two 16 pound duvets two years ago. They are very warm and ideal for hibernation, but will get too hot when the weather warms up. I used to think about the size of the throw but you have to buy a duvet and bedspread and it ended up being more money than I wanted to spend. Then I found this one. I think this is one of the best weighted blankets out there. It has a 7-layer construction with very small pockets to keep the glass beads from moving. It has 12 loops on the quilt and 12 drawstrings on the covers so the quilt stays in place in the cover. The workmanship is really good on both the duvet and cover and I need to know as it took me 3 tries to find a good cover for my other duvets. I used this 5lb blanket for those cold spring days when my summer blanket just wasn't enough and it was perfect. I know it's only a small size but it was enough for me. I loved the blanket so much I bought another one as a gift.
