The light is pretty decent. It's drawn on the outside of the globe so the lights on the inside give it a planetary/moon look. It's a nice soft glow that's great for my 5 year old daughter's night light. The remote control is easy to understand. I have the same remote control for the lights behind my TV and for the LEDs in my gun cabinet, so I'm used to those controls. You can choose the color you want and the pattern you want it to flash in (if you want it to flash). There is also a mode where it smoothly switches between light colors. I can't comment on the battery life because we just leave it. connected like a lamp. Plus it's a basic light and if you're looking for a soft night light this should work.
