I received this product about 1 week ago so I can't speak about its durability but so far it's really amazing. I'm very picky about technology and if something is even remotely mediocre I don't like it. The main purpose of this monitor is gaming and I would say it does that very well. I'm a really competitive FPS gamer so I need and expect the very best from my hardware. I've seen a lot of people comment on this monitor and say it's not for "competitive" gamers. This is partly wrong. For example, if by competition you mean expensive tournaments with generous prizes at stake, then yes, look for the most expensive monitor you can find. However, if you mean high-stakes matches where every bit of response time and frame counts, then this monitor is well suited to it. I have a serious team that plays intense games/tournaments and I believe this device will perform well enough. My previous monitor was a BenQ 1ms response time monitor and this Asus works just as well. I literally can't see any difference (although I'm sure it's subjective). The general screen quality is bright and colorful. The only real downside to this monitor is that the backlighting is pretty noticeable on black (boot) screens, but not unbearable. All in all, if you're looking for a full-color monitor for gaming, this Asus monitor is worth every penny. If you're worried about this monitor working in "competition" situations, don't worry.
