For old spring-loaded speaker terminals. Fits snugly in my 20 year old JBL speakers. You're not going anywhere. They also clamp the speaker wire. There were no problems unplugging the speaker cable. Or loosen the screw clamp to let the speaker wire come out. I also taped the connectors because others have indicated they can dangle and I don't need the metal contact.
