When you put the cap on the finished bottle it sits on the trackball so it doesn't even flush with the bottle at the bottom of the cap. The distance on one side is slightly larger than on the other. I've tried several bottles and actually replaced other brands' caps with this bottle. The same thing happens. So the problem lies in the manufacture of the bottle. As these are essential oil/lip oil applicators, I think the luxurious, spa perfect feel of the whole product is important. That's why I gave this product a bad rating. Otherwise it does not leak and works. By the way, I also bought 5cc bottles from the same company. The screw on the caps is "polished" a bit so they don't tighten all the way onto the bottles. Again, they don't leak and otherwise work. I think this company does not make high quality roll on applicators.
