Packed with options for your choice of FreeBSD or Linux firewall, this little guy does a phenomenal job of routing all your traffic through the VPN! On my gigabit downlink I only get 100Mbps overhead when streaming the stadium in 4k HDR (that's 20GB per hour) or when uploading files through my 10G VPN provider! It's great to be anonymous online, but I've been able to stream 4K HDR content at 20MB, run my security cameras with event logging on an internal SQL server, and even under heavy loads, the system load rarely exceeds 3.0! The quad core Celeron was a great idea for a multipurpose application on a network device that could tunnel my traffic over VPN! Edit: I extended the stress testing for this little guy and successfully did the following: 1) Loaded the IPCAM backend with SQL for my NVR's cloud storage. 2) Initialized DHCP, DNS and SME services on my local network for local and remote file transfer. 3) I have added a Plex server to all my HDR equipped TVs and I have absolutely no problem transcoding DTS-MA to DDP streams. I don't see any overhead at all on my speed test! I can still get gigabit WAN through a 10G VPN provider with a maximum overhead of 100MB. Coming soon: 1) Offline detector that will automatically notify me when internet connection is lost. 2) VPN on-the-fly switching (switching between available 10G networks via my ISP) for seamlessly encrypted gigabit. 3) USB dongle for my locked LUKS filesystem to keep things running in case of sudden crash. -home on the fly WAN encryption through your VPN provider look no further! If you need a Plex Media Server for streaming without A LOT of HDR transcoding, this is the one for you!
