I have one and a bigger one. I like them both, but I prefer this smaller brush because it's easier to control and maneuver on my beard. I almost always hit my ears with a big brush and burn them for a second. I've never left marks or hurt myself, but the outer portion of the large brush gets hot. This brush is better protected on the outside and I can hit my ears without feeling the heat. I wash my beard and groom it in the shower, towel, apply beard oil, then use this brush, apply beard balm and brush everything. This procedure keeps my beard even on my face and not in a mess. A comb helps a lot when it comes to taming an unruly beard and keeping it straight. You will be disappointed with any beard straightening brush, they just don't work that way. But if you just want to keep your beard trimmed and even, you'll be hard pressed to find a better brush. I contacted the company about their product and they are really nice people who support their products and provide great customer service. Each brush also comes with a one-year warranty. Compared to the $15 brush I bought, this brush is of a higher quality, so I highly recommend buying it if you're looking to deal with a messy beard.
