I was delighted to find a lip balm without beeswax and bought three packs of sweet mint. My lips tend to get red and chapped in the winter when I'm not using lip balm, but it's usually fine for the rest of the year. I applied it once or twice a day and in early spring and summer my lips were fine, although I haven't experienced it in deep winter conditions yet. I didn't feel any burning or irritation. I really think the balm I used before with beeswax was more protective and durable (it had that wax shield you know); it's a bit thinner and more of a moisturizer than a preventive (similar to coconut oil on the lips but less melty). I gave it four stars because I really wanted it in a cardboard tube! I'll keep looking for an alternative because I want to be plastic-free, but if you want a lightweight vegan lip balm, that's fine.
