I have kids who waste hay by pulling it out the top of the manger. I made a new wire tip for it to make it harder for them to drag it to the ground. Once it hits the ground, they won't eat it anymore and it becomes litter. I had to remove a new wire attachment each day to add a new straw of hay. I used them because they are so easy to reuse and strong enough to hold the top. If they chew on the ends, I cut them shorter and use them over and over again.
