Review on WAYNE CDU790 Submersible Sump Pump - 1/3 HP, Cast Iron & Steel Construction, Integrated Vertical Float Switch, Black by Christopher Gulledge

I bought this unit as a backup in case my current Wayne 1/3 pump fails. Recently he really went out of service. The installation of this unit was easy and perfect. The float switch worked normally when first installed. However, it didn't work after 20 minutes. literally the second cycle for this brand new pump and it has not fired even after multiple manual shutdowns! The Wayne customer service rep insisted that the switch was a wearable item and was not covered by the 3 year limited warranty, so beware! If you're expecting more than one cycle from a new Wayne pump, you're obviously expecting too much. They "did me a favor" and sent me a replacement disposable pump. But my trust will not be replaced. Replacement block "In the water for an hour. No defects were found". . Not sure how this confirms the quality of the float switch that I said was the problem! I don't know about you, but I don't need a drain pump that works sometimes. Paid a little extra and drove with the equivalent Zoeller. unit revolution. This is amazing, quiet and definitely higher quality!
