this is a very good product, my colleague is at the limit --- this product requires a total of 36 AAA batteries --- I made an assumption that the devices full are functional - batteries are optional. - the way the battery compartment is set up - it seems like the blocks will come together in almost every horizontal position, but that's not the case - unless you're familiar with anything mechanical it might take a while to get there find out . -- use the hanging hook to "slowly" remove the battery compartment (after removing the two screws) -- take 3 of your 36 AAA batteries and insert them --- then after making sure To make sure the cover is in the correct position, replace the 2 screws with a super small Phillips head screwdriver they provide (it works pretty well). After replacing the cap, it provides what appears to be a great weather seal, and I'm willing to bet these things can withstand a heavy downpour - you might want to leave them in the car, because other than a cold trunk - (to get the battery ready hold) and reminders to check from time to time if the battery is still charged ---- in general i would say that they are overpriced but worth it all as a quality product - - and safety factor. ----- Suggestion - Mark each half with a marker before taking it apart for easier reassembly.
