I tried these cotton swabs at my age and was a bit surprised at how thick and soft they are. They are ideal for mainly cleaning the outer part of the ear. They're really too thick to get in your ear, which is great if you're worried about going deep while cleaning your kid's ears. These cotton swabs will never reach your child's ears given the thickness of the cotton. I think they are very safe and will work well when caring for infants or young children. I thought the price was fair and the quality very good.
