My daughter is allergic to the sun so I had to buy all her clothes with built in UPF. So far these are our favorite pants. She usually wears 5/6 more on the 6 side so I ordered a pair of xs and one s. She can wear a size xs and would probably fit a very skinny child but mine is narrower in the legs and bottom so a size s fits her well. I would say compared to most other pants, xs is closer to 4/5 and sa is 6/7. If your child is more sizes, be sure to go up one size if not too skinny. They fit the full length so they overlap nicely without choking. They will not shrink or look worn when washed in a cool place and tumble dried on a low setting. They are very soft without the harsh, noisy finish that UPF carries. We have fuschia with discount. I was afraid it would be a more vibrant and true fuchsia color in the real world, especially since sunny clothes tend to be quite neon, but I was happy to see that their color was pretty realistic in real life on the internet. I would say they are a little more vibrant plum colour. Overall very satisfied and this will be our base layer.
