I bought these to replace useless H11 bulbs in a 2019 Toyota Highlander. Normal light bulbs hardly illuminate the road! These H9 bulbs illuminate the road for about 100 feet. Without trying to play a cliche, the difference between the old H11 bulbs and the new H9 bulbs is huge. Because the bulbs are still behind the standard projector lenses, the beam shape remains the same as before, so you don't blind anyone and nobody has to shine your light. All good, the only potential downside is the shorter life of the H9 bulbs (compared to H11) and possibly more heat for the headlight optics and possibly the electrical connector and wiring (most cars shouldn't have a problem). H9 bulbs require minor modification to fit H11 housings. The thin metal tab needs to be shortened (for most vehicles) and the small plastic tab in the electrical connector needs to be removed. I used metal scissors for the metal tongue. One click and the metal tab broke off easily. For the plastic tab in the connector I used a pair of pliers that are commonly used to cut PCB pins. I'm not sure if this needs to be done, but I used a small file to smooth out the remaining plastic bulge with the wire cutters. Having never made this mod before, it literally took me 10 minutes including finding the right tools. I would suggest using some rubbing alcohol on a clean paper towel to clean the bulb glass just prior to installation. Halogen lamps usually use quartz glass. The fused silica absorbs the oils from your skin and as the lamp heats up it creates hot spots where the oils are which can cause the lamp to shatter. The alcohol will remove any oils on the glass. I also suggest taking the bulbs you just removed and cleaning them with rubbing alcohol, then placing them in the box your new bulbs came in (a couple of clips secure them inside) and placing them somewhere in the car. Because these H9 bulbs have a shorter life expectancy than your original H11 bulbs, they can be quickly replaced in 5 minutes if needed. Replacing an old lightbulb won't do much to brighten the road, but it will save you from being pulled over and getting a speeding ticket.
