An interesting combination of sleep mask and headphones - not perfect but effective

Over the years I've tried different types of sleep masks - from disposable giveaways on airplanes to detachable velor eyecups. Overall, this mask from BULYPAZY is above average and its real selling point is the built-in Bluetooth headphones. The fabric of the mask is soft and of acceptable quality. No issues with material wear or seams coming out of the box. The mask is 8" wide (face coverage area) not including the ear cups and elastic straps. The mask attaches with Velcro which is very "thin" and does not itch or tangle easily in hair. Eyecups are about 2 inches. in diameter (enough for an adult's eyes), but they are a bit small compared to some sleep masks. If you have long and/or false lashes this can be an issue, but personally I have not experienced any uncomfortable or irritated lashes. The mask provides adequate light blocking. However, I did notice some leakage from the bottom and around the nose area (this mask doesn't offer that much extra tissue around the bridge of the nose). It was good for me. But if you need 100% black or want to wear in well-lit areas, you might want to reconsider. What sets this mask apart from most are the built-in wireless earbuds. and I will focus most of my review on this feature. . I had no problems connecting the mask to my iPhone via bluetooth (very easy and no lags). However, I was initially concerned about the design of the mask and the placement of the speakers. When first worn, the speakers were not close to my ears. They were completely behind my head. Then I noticed that the speakers are not permanently installed, but can be adjusted within the fabric housing. Pooh! After some back and forth, I was able to better align the speakers to my ears. The speakers are quite thin and unobtrusive. I didn't have any major complaints during the initial trial use. Another issue I had was the shape of the side of the mask and the latch design. I prefer to wear the belt higher on my head. Unfortunately, this has increased the ear coverage area with the speakers. As a result, the speakers didn't quite fit my ears and I had to make further adjustments. Finally, the quality of the speakers and wireless controls. These aren't expensive speakers - they're budget-friendly, and the sound quality is clearly not up to par. They're great for podcasts or white background noise when falling asleep. However, don't expect much from listening to music. There's also no active noise cancellation. The controls on the front of the mask are poorly designed and poorly implemented. This is unfortunate as they are required when wearing a mask (because it's not easy to see the phone's screen). There are 3 buttons - a central button for power and pause/play and two external buttons for volume and track control. This is a normal setup and they work as intended. However, the buttons are too close together and hard to find - they're under the skin and don't protrude far enough to be well felt. Overall, this product is a good combination of sleep mask and Bluetooth headphones. While no component is perfect on its own (and the implementation could be improved), the combination works well and eliminates the need for uncomfortable or bulky headphones when sleeping.
