Review on πŸ–ŠοΈ Schrade 5.7in Black Aluminum Tactical Pen - Refillable and Screw-Off, Ideal for Outdoor Survival, Protection, and EDC by John Huskisson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Excellent pen with a small bend.

This has been an excellent pen for the months that I have owned it. I didn't have to use it tactically, but I consider it a must-have EDC (every day carry) item. When the original cartridge ran out, I replaced it with a Fisher Space Pen refill, which was quick and easy. This is an extremely durable pen with an excellent firm grip and a very understated appearance. I know it was risky but I had no issues with airport security and that handle in my backpack. I have included a picture of the most common use of this handle so far and that was when I went to the mall and most of the stall locks were broken and the door was too far away to just keep it closed and I was able to use this handle as temporary lock. If you are looking for a great and very durable pen, look no further. It sits low in your pocket but high enough to be grabbed when needed. As said, this pen is very unobtrusive and unlike other "tactical" pens it poses no threat. This makes this pen ideal for the business person. Now for the cons. I only have two negatives for this pen. First, the coating wears out quickly. I've attached a photo showing where the trimmings in my bag have worn down to the pocket knife. I've since moved my pocket knife to the other side of the pocket and haven't had any issues. However, this does not affect the usability of this pen. The other problem is that the pen either unscrews (kind of) in my pocket or doesn't open when I need it and I have to struggle. This can probably be solved with a small amount of graphite grease or some other lubricant. I'm deducting a star for those two things.
