I installed this bracket in a 2009 Honda Pilot on top of the center console (above the multifunction display) and routed the cables to connect our iPhones to the under dash stereo in the gap between the two Divide the dashboard (near the climate baffle). This has worked well for us; Docking your phone is a two-step process: place your phone in the cradle by pressing the right edge of the cradle to spread the grip, then place your phone on a flat surface, snap the grip closed and hold the phone, and then connect cable for the radio. We can listen to our music and see the phone (for navigation) while the phone is conveniently visible without it blocking our view of the surroundings. When I bought this mount I was concerned that the suction cup would lose the seal/vacuum and the mount would fall off (especially when going over bumps). It's been up for about 6 months now and it still seems as reliable as day one - no issues, no releases. I haven't removed the mount since my initial install, so I can't speak to the possibility of reusing the mount for later attachments. I prepped the surface by cleaning with a damp cloth and then rubbing again with alcohol to ensure there were no oils or contaminants. leather, natural oils, etc.), the phone can slip slightly when driving over bumps. This is easily remedied by cleaning the body - the rubber grip grips firmly on clean surfaces.
