As many other reviewers have pointed out, it takes boiling water to get these little fellas out of the pods. So not good for a bath. I did a test run and put one in cold, one in warm and one in boiling water. The cold never came out, the warm only freed the buffalo's legs, and the boiling water worked like magic. It was good for what I used it for. Also, they are VERY thin. For a very young child it will be unreliable. Again, this was fine for my purposes.
