I would recommend this over the Neewer equivalent. This SUPON light is about the same price but has many more benefits. The panel is larger but much thinner, runs on both batteries and a wall outlet (Neewer is battery only), feels more premium (Neewer has a plastic case that looks a lot cheaper), has more feedback, and control (a real pen display instead of a Neewer dial with almost no information or feedback) and the light quality is much smoother without the need for external diffusion. The only benefit of buying the Neewer brand is that their light is brighter than SUPON. That's not to say this light doesn't have good light output - it does - but the Neewer light can get a lot brighter. The last point, which can be both positive and negative, is that this light turns off immediately when the battery runs out. In comparison, Neewer slowly and imperceptibly begins to dim and disappear as the battery runs out. I personally prefer the SUPON light to turn off immediately. With Neewer I sometimes don't notice that it gradually fades and darkens over the course of 20 minutes, messing up most of the footage unbeknownst to us. Just something to note.
