Both types of containers leak
Leak. The inner cap for hard plastic is also made of hard plastic and therefore does not provide a good seal. The soft silicone tubs deform under lateral pressure - as luggage can - and break the strong seal to the hard plastic lids. I tested with water as I was planning on putting coconut oil in one of them and it becomes liquid at 78 degrees.
