The magnet initially holds the phone reasonably well, but as you hold the phone through the ring with your finger and grab something on the phone with your thumb, a slight tug on the magnet will begin to come off the phone. It seemed too unstable to me. When you open the ring, you also need to hold the magnet with your other hand to keep it from detaching from the phone. It just doesn't seem strong enough, especially compared to how I used my previous pop socket with glue.
