NEVER AGAIN! While trying to help my twins panther and puma to suddenly fight after over 2 years of peace and love, i feel like this product could have killed my precious puma. I bought one of these and put it on my panther. since he was the one who became the aggressor. When I got home from the vet he took it off less than 10 minutes later. When I found it, it was obvious that he had chewed it somehow. I ordered two more last night and gave one to each cat. I tightened it, leaving room for a finger in the collar, hoping that wouldn't give them a chance to take it off. I checked many times to make sure it wasn't too tight, that they didn't have breathing problems. I woke up this morning to a scratching noise on the floor next to my bed. I turned on the light and saw Puma being strangled by the collar. It was stuck in his mouth very firmly, his mouth wide open and his back still behind his ears. We have wooden floors and in front of him was a puddle of saliva mixed with blood. I grabbed him and tried to rip off the collar. I couldn't tear it apart even though I pulled very hard. When my boy was obviously in danger I grabbed him and ran to where we keep the scissors and cut him off. There was blood around his mouth and he licked his paws for the next 20 minutes. I couldn't tell him how sorry I was for putting him in this dangerous situation. I'm just so glad it happened right next to me while I was at home! If I hadn't been home, I'm afraid I might be going home to a dead little boy. I later lifted the cut off collar to show my wife that it was going to fall apart and I had to pull very hard to get it loose. . I know it must be difficult for a manufacturer that it doesn't fall apart easily but falls apart in an emergency, but I think it's too difficult to release. I'm just glad my boys are alive and I'll never collar them again.
