Mine just arrived today from Revane. I hand washed and rinsed well. I put as many ice cubes as usual in my Tervis glass (which I've been using daily for the past two years) and after filling it with water, I had to leave the house after the first sip. I've just returned a few hours later and the ice is still in the same condition as when I left. My Tervis couldn't do that. I recently retired and closed my plumbing business. What I immediately noticed was that the o-ring on the lid is sticking so tightly to the metal that the lid is difficult to put on and take off, and I'm concerned that the o-ring might break. In plumbing, you must use a food-grade lubricant for parts that come in contact with drinking water. I applied a thin coat to the o-ring, wiped over a little with a rag and the cover comes on and off easily, just like I had hoped. I may have to reapply the lube in the future, but that's not a problem. Where can you get a lube like this? I guess I have to get used to the metal straw. I've only used it once but I don't like the metal on my teeth.
