SEE UPDATE AT THE END - I've changed my rating from 4 to 5 stars I have three cats and they wanted to add another electric heating pad so they each have their own heated bed. This rug is small and looks like a typical pet bed. By small I mean it will fit a cat weighing no more than 20 pounds or a toy dog. (NOTE: I've attached a photo of my largest cat, Ricky, in this bed; he weighs 16 pounds. Although he looks like he's sloshing across the bed in this photo, he isn't.) The heating element is between the layers of the bed with a cord coming out from the back. My cats love it as it keeps them warm without getting hot. I always leave it on in the winter. The fabric on the bed is beautiful, plush, with a nice marbling. So I was disappointed when part of the bed was damaged when the packaging tags were removed. I mean, the manufacturer puts a very sticky label on the bed that says "Test your new bed". When this tag is torn off, a large amount of fiber comes off with it, leaving the area it was removed from slightly bare. This glue only destroyed the beautiful marbling in one place. In my opinion this label is unnecessary as the box label is also attached with one of those plastic zip ties. Interestingly enough, the cardboard label contradicts what is written on the adhesive label. The box label says to wait an hour before placing the pillow on the bed for 20-30 minutes and then checking the heat. The adhesive label says: plug in the bed, put the pillow on the bed and wait 20 minutes before checking the temperature of the pillow. I've attached pictures so you can see what I mean. I called K&H and spoke to the gentlemen who said I could return this bed to Revane for another. I told him this would lead to another bed with a different label, so what's the point. He provided an email address and I sent the photos to the manufacturer. They said they would take care of it. I hope they solve this problem. In fact, I wouldn't buy another one until I'm sure they fixed this problem. This only detracts from the aesthetics of the bed and is a thorn in my side. Thus, removing the fibers does not affect the functionality of the bed and in no way diminishes its use. However, I personally don't like the look of a patchwork patch on the couch that doesn't match the quality and beautiful marbling of the fibers on the rest of the cat blanket. For this reason I rate it 4 stars. My cats, on the other hand, give it 5 stars. UPDATE Nov 24, 2015 - Attached are two photos of my 9 lb cat Jake on this bed. UPDATE September 18, 2017 - My cats loved this bed so much I bought two more so each of my three cats could have one. Also, I'm happy to report that the seller has finally listened to my suggestion and is no longer sticking his tag on the bed. Instead, they put the information on a cardboard tag like they would label clothes in a department store. Therefore, the bed remains in its original form. I have raised my rating from 4 to 5 stars as both my cats and I now love these beds.
