I bought this knowing I would probably modify it. Our daybed is a very thick platform mattress that I made for this purpose. It was always covered in a well made heavy duty leaf shaped matelass case and looked very well fitted. The coating was worn off and I couldn't find anything to compare. This one seemed to fit the bill as far as I could find. The blue is very dark, almost dark blue, which is what I wanted and expected after reading other reviews. I find the weight very good and well made for the price. I like going backwards too. I don't use a bed skirt, and although others have criticized it, I find nothing wrong with it. I don't like the design of the pillow, I won't use it. As you can see in the picture I sewed the bottom corner together and folded it over for a more finished look. I also plan to change the flap that hangs from the head end of the mattress so that the cover can be used as a duvet when sleeping in bed. You don't need that long flap on your head. I would like to point out that this cover will not work with our daybed unless modified to leave a gap where the side and front flaps droop and the mattress corner is open. But modified it works fine. I'm a seamstress and this is better than making it from scratch or paying for a custom order.
