Review on Quilt Data by Aaron Carney
Great resource if not exactly easy learning curve
I appreciate how well put together this is for someone new to coding in general, but also old school coders that have been around the block will be able to get going quickly with their first project! There are some things you need experience or knowledge of before using it - specifically about getting into your database through SQL instead of pulling everything up via Excel and writing queries by hand (which can make even experienced users frustrated).
We've only used Quiltedata so far when we needed something quick which wasn't available elsewhere. However now our team has realized its power they're asking me all over again what else there might possibly be out there?
Pros
- Simple interface
- Many possibilities within each data type
- Can store almost any format/type easily.
- Relatively fast compared other softwareI dislike:
- The price if not covered under an organization's benefits
- It requires too much manual input from nonprogrammers
Cons
- Almost never
