Edit. Up to 4 stars for customer service. Neweer gave me a partial refund for my issues with the lamb described below. I bought it to use with popup background. For casual use I think it will be sturdy enough. The only drawback to getting a total of three stars: The supplied wing nut for attaching the crossbar to the stand didn't fit properly. The included wing nut is metal embedded in plastic and I didn't want to risk stripping or breaking the wing nut. I emailed Neweer and was told it was a 10mm nut. I took the stand to a large hardware store. NOT 10mm. The metal wing nuts that fit me are 8-1.25. The photos show how far down the supplied wing nut stops. Neither the nut nor the shaft are defective. In the second photo, the hardware store is an all-metal 8-1.25 lamb. It will go smoothly along the entire thread. I bought three wing nuts because I can easily imagine dropping and losing one. If you want to use it as a stand, look at the threaded side of the stem - you'll need a 1/4" adapter. -20 threaded tripod accessories.
