Review on 3M Quick Headlight Clear 39173 by Mark Young

Addition after almost 2 years: headlights still look great! They have not faded in the sun and still look remarkably clean. Great stuff! I used this product AFTER I immediately restored my headlights on a 9 year old VW Jetta using a 3M lens restoration kit. The temperature in my garage was around 80 degrees (IMHO, this is important for the paint to dry properly). After spending a lot of time sanding with 500 grit, 800 grit and then my own 1500 grit wheels, I used a gray 3000 grit wheel. I took the time to get everything perfect because I wanted to finish this project. I then washed the headlights with soap and water and dried them with a cotton cloth. The instructions for the clear coat said I had to apply alcohol for the final rinse but I forgot. I used napkins (do not unwrap) and covered the lens with a coat. Place carefully and do not press firmly. You just want to apply a thin film evenly to the surface. Leave and dry for 20 minutes. After the first layer was dry, I opened the second pack and did the same. After 1 hour of drying, the headlights look like new. My wife thought I replaced the headlights.
