Back to the Future

* SPECIAL NOTICE. The product was provided by the supplier free of charge for testing and evaluation. I was a teenager in the 1960's. All had transistor AM pocket radios and rocked out to the music of KJR's Pat O'Day in Seattle, Washington. It was our "must have” mobile device – the post-war baby boomer equivalent of this generation’s iPhone and smartphone. My review compares this product to many I owned as a teenager. BENEFITS.1. PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS: The device is small and very light. There are only three simple controls: volume, tuning and AM/FM/Power ON-OFF switch.2. VERSATILE: FM stations are received in the same way as AM.3. MUSICAL QUALITY: The speaker is surprisingly good. The music is clear and the volume is loud. CONS.1. RANGE: The range is short. I can only receive Seattle stations in my ultra-insulated house. These include 15 FM and 11 AM. Suburban and neighboring city radio stations were weak. The quality of their transmission was distorted and distorted.2. Headphones were not included. Compared to the transistor radios of the 1960s, the DEGEN FM/AM 2 BAND RADIO is superior in every respect: size, weight, sound quality, versatility and simplicity.
