We use a replacement film that we received free of charge from our Revain registry to keep moisture out. We only have to wash it when it has a slip mark, which might be once a week with us, and we trade it for the second one that comes with the kit. If that gets kind of dirty too, we don't worry because most changing pads are at least waterproof, which gives us time to wash our clothes.
