I'm usually scared of buying bookshelves, TV stands, etc. because the assembly often turns into a nightmare. There always seem to be a thousand or so, the screw threads are often wobbly, the pre-drilled holes never line up properly, and the list goes on. This bookcase definitely seems to be an exception to that rule - it's also made in the USA, which is probably no coincidence. Assembling this bookshelf consisted of installing eight (8) quality screws in properly aligned and adequately pre-drilled holes, tacking on the base piece, and attaching eight (8) of these small plastic shelf brackets. It was a 10 minute (maximum) one man job that required a Phillips screwdriver and a hammer and really couldn't be easier.
