Review on TireJect 5-in-1 Off-Road Tire Sealant Kit - Prevent and Repair Flat Tires (20oz) by Robby Fingaw

Revainrating 4 out of 5

This stuff worked for me

This is a long review with some background to explain why I bought the TireJect. For the past two years we've had to change a few tires when I found the right rear tire flat on the ground, bled it out and took it to our favorite tire shop to check for nails etc. The tire shop found a flat tire and repaired the tire. tires but warned us that the flaking chrome on the bead would not hold air securely. They said they didn't know how long she would hold her breath and watched her closely. I believe they were unable to apply sealant when fitting the tire as my wife was driving less than six hours later as she walked downhill and continued. rim until she stopped on a side street and called me for help (the tire was completely destroyed and had to be replaced). AAA roadside assistance responded and installed a compact replacement part. Our tire shop took no responsibility when they warned us that the flaking chrome was interfering with a good bead seal (I eventually persuaded the owner to sell two new tires at cost, fit and balance free of charge). , and refund the $20 to fix it.) But we couldn't put new tires on until the chrome wheel was "fixed." bead and inner part of the wheel. The repair cost $75 because the wheel was removed from the car and no tire was installed. About a year later we had a puncture in a new driver's side tire and the tire company mechanic said it was too close to the sidewall. for repairs. I complained to the owner to find that two new tires had been delivered without accident insurance (he said he couldn't get accident insurance because the chrome on the driver's side wheel was chipping). The owner looked at the nail and pointed out it wasn't too close to the sidewall and repaired the tire. A few months later we found that the driver's side front tire was too low (just 10psi). Camera in the tire shop. They couldn't find a hole and suggested the flaking chrome on the bead was suspicious and recommended I have the wheel repaired. (I don't know if this tire was repaired with a nail "too close" to the sidewall.) I called a chrome wheel repair shop and picked up the car with the wheel on the car. The cost of repairing the wheel was $125. However, the following week we were out of town and the cameo sat in the garage for five days. I checked the tire pressure and after five days of parking it dropped to 21psi. The wheel repair company took another look and said it was a valve stem leak at its base. They changed the valve stem for free. I checked the tire pressure the following week and it's still lost 10psi in five days. I took it back to the wheel shop and they said they couldn't find a leak (the wheel with the tire was put in a water bath and there were no air bubbles for 30 minutes). Well we still had a leak as the tire lost about 10psi. the week. That's when I found and bought TireJect. There is an FAQ on their website that says the maximum recommended amount for a passenger car level is 4 ounces, more than 4 ounces is likely to affect tire balance and is not recommended. I did not lift the tire off the ground when installing the TireJect. I stopped the car with the valve stem in the 4-5 o'clock position, used the included valve stem tool, removed the valve core and deflated the tire. I set the recommended four ounces, replaced the valve stem core, and inflated the tire to 32 psi. Drive the car through the city streets for 5 minutes to deliver the TireJect solution. The car sat for three hours and was then driven home (about 20 miles at highway speed). The next day the tire pressure was below 32psi (possibly 28psi). I vented it to 32psi and kept an eye on the tire. The tire was still losing air (usually a cold air pressure of 26-28psi when I checked it in the morning) over the next two weeks. Update: Tireject was installed about two or three weeks after receiving the shipment: 7/3/18 (installation date not recorded). Initial results were somewhat disappointing: the leak slowed down but didn't stop. However, for two weeks (as of 09/10/2018) the tire pressure has remained at 32 psi without air supply.
