I bought this mug for a hike and definitely tried it - and it looks like new! After a week of almost constant use, heating up, cooling down, backpacking and hiking, tipping over, rolling in the mud, hand washing, washing in the dishwasher and playing with a big dog (cute but disappointing), I'm a little mad at myself myself because I didn't buy more than one! And in addition to its great quality, the style is extremely cute and hasn't shown any wear to date, not even chipping or peeling images. A word of caution: This mug retains heat very well - so much so that you can easily burn yourself on the metal if you're not careful. As I was camping in very cold and windy weather I appreciated it, but I wore gloves most of the time.
