Stainless steel not coated with paint are the only ones that work for me. I was so excited about the multicolor but I don't change the septum ring every day and within 3 days the green started peeling off in my nose. From now on I'll mostly use the silver plain stainless steel ring and wear one of the colored rings for that special occasion when it doesn't last long enough to (hopefully) come off! Great value for the number of rings you get even if you end up just using a solid stainless steel ring.
