I've recorded a lot of drums in my time and when I'm selling quality stuff I look for great deals. This set fits perfectly. At first I was a bit surprised by the sounds coming from the mics, but then I realized that I usually equalize and compress the drums the same way anyway. The kick mic isn't too thick or too round, and the brightness is muted. It's nice and small to fit in the smaller front port, the cheap Heiyu mic appears to have the same element inside but a wastefully large basket. bright transient with fairly rich but not overpowering low sustain. Just what you need for volume. For top and bottom snare I think Pyle 78 with and/or without transformer added might be best choice and use them for a 4 tom rack. The SDC pair is really thin as shown in the diagram. it rolls below 600Hz, but that gets rid of the dirty hum coming from the drums. There's also a 10K tip that adds definition to the cymbals. I didn't find them fragile to handle as mentioned in another review.? But I wouldn't use them for anything other than drum/percussion overheads. The SDC output is also fairly low to avoid the need for pads, but the dynamics are quite hot so some on-board leads may be needed if your preamp isn't up to the task. altitude reserve. The biggest downside to this set is that the clips use 5/8 and 3/8 plastic threads instead of metal, but hey, the mic is $16 and they sound great. If a particularly spinning drummer breaks down, let him buy another set for the price.
