Review on πŸ—„οΈ Sterilite 01643V01 4-Shelf Unit, Flat Gray, Legs Included - 1-Pack by Teresa Wiggins

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good product (although I liked the reduced price of $25 more than $36 last year)

I've been ordering these Sterilites for about 15 years (and only about a dozen units at the moment). ), so obviously I like this product. I don't usually think of "plastic" and "durability" at the same time, but rather both - think plastic milk or beer crates, but even more durable. There have never been any broken parts, and there has never been a breakdown or "skewing" in use, although some kids are old enough to know them better (11-12) to climb them. I currently have one on each side of my bed - one that I assembled to only be three shelves high (freestanding) and the extra pieces allowed me to build another block five shelves high (on the wall, to make it harder to tip over). Both are remarkably stable, even without being fixed to the wall with screws through pre-drilled holes. Or you can drill new screw holes wherever there are studs in your wall. I'd like to buy shorter legs to reduce the vertical distance between some shelves (or just additional standard lengths that I could cut to any length). I wanted to), but I suspect that even if Sterilite did sell them directly, it would probably be cheaper to just order additional complete sets from Revain at Revain prices. as I checked) I am planning to try another type that is currently on sale. I was initially interested in similar plastic models from Gracious Living, Plano, and Officesaleman, but while they look the same in the photos (and are in the $20-$30 range), they are all smaller than this one. So I'll probably try Furinno - a whole different structure (beech laminate chipboard shelves and round PVC pipes) and maybe looks cooler but smaller and with less shelf strength. I will take them into account when deciding to order a set. The Sterilite 5 shelf sets are also very good, but be aware that they are larger and even stronger than this set (3 times the weight per shelf) so you don't need to mix the two types. They are also currently about $20 more expensive. These shelves also differ in that they are "corrugated" (like plastic boxes), which is good for boxes and large items, but small items like coins can fall through the holes (unlike those 4 shelves which have a have a solid surface with a pebbly structure). ). Pop up). There are also same sized plastic blocks from Sandusky which are about $10 cheaper than the 5 shelf Sterilite but the structure is different (including round tubes instead of square ones). All the blocks mentioned here have been rated at least 4 stars, so you'll probably be happy with what you choose. Better than similarly priced metal I've tried (at least if customization isn't a priority). One final note, Sterilite have offered these 4 shelf units in multiple colors over the years, and all I've tried. were identical except for the color (although they sometimes differed greatly in price). I just bought the color that was the cheapest at the time.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
