This versatile replacement appears to be well made and fits perfectly. It looks a little different than the original device, but offers about the same performance at a much more attractive price. Charcoal filters are also suitable. Due to the very fine dust in the air, large enough to be caught by a golf filter, they need to be replaced frequently. I check and vacuum them monthly or replace with a new unit. It is always difficult to tell when a Hepa unit needs to be replaced. I write the date at the top of the filter as I have three large devices running in different areas with different settings. One of the great benefits of filtering air with a Hepa filter is that it reduces the need to replace the furnace or air conditioner filter. I will be checking this filter regularly to monitor how efficient the indoor units are. In the end they work great.
