Review on 🐱 Wysong Epigen 90 Starch-Free Dry Formula - Optimized Dog and Cat Food (WDCFE905) by Rob Vizitei

My 14 year old cat was recently diagnosed with diabetes. The vet suggested that carbohydrates and his extra weight eventually led to this diagnosis. He is now on insulin twice a day and has been put on a "low carb" prescription diet. I did a lot of research and found that the recipe diet had significantly more carbs than cats can properly digest and came across this food. I tried it and it worked wonders for my aging diabetic kitten! During the prescription diet and insulin (3 months) my cat's sugars stabilized at 200-220 and his weight fluctuated between 14-15.4 pounds. The vet wanted his sugar to be in the 100-150 range and weight in the 12-13 lb range. After switching his diet to this food his sugars are now consistently around 110-117 and his weight is down to a consistent 11.5lbs (down from 28!). He has been eating this food for about 5 months now. He looks forward to his food every day and devours it! He hated the food prescribed by the vet and didn't seem to enjoy feeding it. His coat has also changed since I fed him this food and now he looks much healthier. I have 3 other cats living at my house and I have decided to change their diet and they all love this food! Everyone is eating less and staying full longer, their fur is much healthier and their breath is no longer stinky! I can't tell you how game and life changing this meal is! The vet now feels that as long as his diet fits his diet we can wean him off his insulin and stick to his diet strictly. Fingers crossed that this is the case as he really hates injections and I hate being the one who has to give them to him.
