I received this through the vine program. I had read the reviews before requesting it and was hopeful I could make good use of it as an amateur/beginner photographer. I wanted this mainly for photographing hummingbirds at my feeders, I hang my feeders under a pergola that's covered in a beautiful wisteria vine, therefore always shaded and dark. I currently have an entry level DSLR (d3500, hopefully ungrading soon) and the sensor just can't handle that low light situation, so a big fast flash I knew could help. The built in flash just wasn't getting me the results I wanted. I attached some photos! It works (these are edited with Lightroom, I simply enhanced colors and sharpened the already pretty sharp birds and softened the background noise)! When the camera is on the AF mode this laser grid pattern shows up. I would have never noticed that outside. But I played with it indoors and sure enough it showed up on my white door. Overall yes, it's entry level, not terribly expensive, but it gets the job done! I still need to play around with it some more, but it's worth trying this flash if your new to flashes and cameras.
