The bristles are hard but not abrasive. Ideal for cleaning vinyl floors and collecting water in a small pile for easy cleaning with a detergent/water spray bottle and no mop. Next time I clean our deck I'll take advantage of this to loosen the pollen that kinda builds up and then hardens from the condensation of the morning/night sun. We often get a whitish-yellowish film on our patio from pollen and pressure washing doesn't remove it. I tried one board and it didn't scratch the paint and it went away after rinsing.
