I bought this specifically for a check book keeper. In fact, there is no dedicated place for a check book and register, and there is no pen grip to hold the pen to write the checks. I'll keep the wallet to myself - it's decent quality, doesn't smell, has enough space to store phone, ID and cash and get going - if you don't mind keeping it all the time. D-rings inside to add a strap for hands-free carrying. As mentioned in the review - the change pocket makes no sense - it's backwards and I don't like the pocket on the outside of the wallet - coins wear down the outer material - but I don't deal with coins so not really relevant in this case. I would recommend this product as a handheld wallet and clutch; but NOT as a check accountant
