You could also buy a larger size instead of this small one because the dollar difference is negligible and it WORKS, I'm serious. I had it for about a year. I always thought such products were "useless," but after buying pre-packaged lettuce and having to spend money all the time, I decided that $10 wouldn't make much of a difference. I followed the very simple instructions (2 tablespoons of water on the bottom and open lettuce openings) and was pleasantly surprised. I buy romaine lettuce in bulk at Costco and make mini salads for my SO's lunch every day, so I cut up the romaine lettuce ahead of time and place it in this container, which surprisingly can hold almost 3 romaine hearts (densely packed). The lettuce will keep for about 1 1/2 weeks before the ribs begin to develop a pinkish-brown color, by which time it's largely gone. It also stays fresh and crispy for 1 1/2 weeks and will not wilt/chewy like it does in 'regular' containers. I believe in things like that a little bit more since I stopped spending money on lettuce (we only eat romaine lettuce because iceberg lettuce is boring).
