Automatic shut-off suitable for irons and steam irons

We've had this iron for about 2 years now and thought I'd write a review based on what happened this morning. This morning when I went to work to iron my clothes, I noticed that the iron kept going. At first I thought my wife had left it on a few minutes ago, but I discovered that the iron had actually been on since morning. Offline for more than 24 hours. The iron was warm but not hot. The ironing board was surprisingly undamaged and the iron continued to work after I unplugged it and let it sit for a few minutes. Life. It was a surreal moment this morning and I am eternally grateful for this design. If this iron didn't have a shut off function, I could lose my home or my life. If you don't buy this iron, make sure you buy an iron with an auto shut-off feature. Everybody makes mistakes. Sooner or later you may leave the iron on. Almost all irons work, but check. Aside from that shutdown feature, it has a unique design that reflects the front point, making it look like a soccer ball from underneath. This helps straighten the clothes and allows you to move back and forth without lifting or rotating the iron. Really speeds up ironing. At first I thought it was a trick. Now I don't want to use the old iron molds anymore. I also haven't seen any build up of calcium or contamination from excessive vapor consumption. Because of this, we had to throw away our old (non-Panasonic) iron. The iron itself still looks brand new without much maintenance on my part. I use it from Sunday to Friday and always use the steam function. The only improvement I could think of is a retractable cord. I used velcro to wrap the cord when not in use.
