large for 4-5 year olds not as shown: without cords

My son really likes them although I ordered Large for a 4-5 year old and they really fit my 8 year old better. The biggest disappointment is that the thread pictured, which had to be threaded through the sleeves of his coat to keep him from losing them, is not actually included in the product. I have to go to the fabric store and shop and sew for myself if he doesn't lose them before I get there.
