This USB stick is great unless you want to use it for recording with a microphone or for other purposes where electronic noise can be an issue. I suspect it might affect the data as well but I haven't had any issues with the data and it was fine using it with my midi controller but on my second attempt to use it to record with a mic, I encountered an awful hum/squeak. . After a lot of frustrating troubleshooting (multiple computers, disconnecting every other possible electrical device in the room, etc.) I switched to the old USB cable I had and the problem went away.
