Sports bikes beware (and everyone else)

Wanted to take some panniers and finally found the time to get them. Simply put, the wrong bag design and poor placement of the straps make the bag prone to damage. Beware of sport cyclists and those with high exhaust pipes. For TLDR; jump down. Any orientation of the bag allows the bag to dangle from the exhaust pipe and swing freely into the rear wheel (found this out having only ridden it once). I installed the bag, tightened the straps etc and was only able to get the bag off the exhaust by folding the bag and tipping the pair to the side without the exhaust. It was possible to fit a heat resistant buffer, but other problems ruined it. "Functional" if you use both bags when parking. As I said, it wobbles in the rear wheel and will likely break if you have an open rear wheel like mine. Advertised dimensions are 20 inches wide by 13.6 inches tall and actually hangs at least 16-18 inches or more depending on fit and/or padding. defend effectively without concessions. If you don't have an anchor point just behind the bag, good luck. On my bike I was able to attach both bags under the back seat. I could then wait until it slipped off while driving and was blown away by the force of the wind. So the only possible attachment was the front straps on the passenger footrest frame. It requires moving the saddlebags to cover the back seat and almost half of the driver's seat to reach the front straps. (I don't understand why they didn't just make the straps 3-4 inches longer and remove or shorten the useless foot-length tertiary buckles to close the bag). Reversed orientation (with two short nylon straps facing backwards), the straps are not long enough to be fastened without risk of tearing or being pulled out of the plastic buckle. The long nylon strap is not enough to secure at any attachment points and attach on the other side. It probably won't work that way on any bike. In short, no matter how I attached this bag to my sports bike (Honda CBRR), it was unreliable. I had a choice: it will slip at over 50km/h if the nylon straps melt/break, or - bonus round - it will obviously dangle in the rear wheel and break apart, as in my case. Only buy this if your rear wheel has a barrier and the height between the mounting point and the exhaust pipe is 16-18 inches or more. And then hopefully the front nylon cam straps are long enough to somehow secure the bike.
