Review on Rubbermaid 26 Piece Flex & Seal: Leak Proof Lids, Easy-find Snaps, Blue Bases by Jill Turner

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not exactly what I expected but it works

I bought a set of Rubbermaid Flex & Seal storage boxes from a brick and mortar store a few years ago and I absolutely love them . . In fact, I liked them so much I decided to buy another set and since it's a pandemic I decided to order them from Revain. What I expected was a crystal clear, high quality storage kit that I'm used to. What I got was a cheaper, slightly smaller cloud white set. The lids are the same and work on both sets I currently own. To be honest, at first I thought they sent me a fake one. After reviewing the Flex & Seal kit on Rubbermaid's website, these newer, lower quality items appear legitimate. Perhaps the new bodies are cheaper to produce or easier to recycle. I do not know. It annoys me that the kits don't match, but I'm not going to throw that much plastic in the landfill just to find something more aesthetically pleasing. My old set has a clear plastic body with some textured stripes on the bottom. . The new set is a uniform milky white with a single textured base stripe. You will also notice in my comparison photos that the new set is slightly smaller than the old one. The neck width is the same, so the lids fit, but the usable volume is noticeably smaller. Just be aware that if you have an older set these will not match exactly.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Incredible piggy bank
